HAWTHORNE-BOWMAN

Tracy Porterfield Bowman and Charles Thomas Hawthorne weremarried Saturday, September 11, 1993, at five o'clock, in the First Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Robert Smith officiating. The reception was held at the Roanoke Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Bowman, Jr., of Roanoke; and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander and Mae PorterfieldBowman of Roanoke; and Mrs. Casper H. Uldriks, of Battle Creek, Michigan, and the late Mr. Uldriks. She is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and James Madison University. She is employed by Pro-Carpet Supply, Inc.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thweatte Hawthorne III, of Roanoke, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thweatte Hawthorne, Jr., of Kenbridge; and Mr. and Mrs. CharlesBurton Baughan, Jr., of Martinsville. He is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and James Madison University. He is employed by Swift Print.

Mary Elizabeth Carter of Roanoke, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Carolyn Connelly Hancock, Virginia Gannaway Lee, Cyndi Leigh Wilson, all of Roanoke; Kristin Gochoel Bowman,sister-in-law of the bride, of Manassas; Meredith Smith Draper of Winchester; Amy Lynne Russell of Blacksburg; and Anne Shore Tucker of Raleigh, NorthCarolina.

Mr. Thomas Thweatte Hawthorne, Jr., father of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were John GardnerHawthorne, brother of the groom,Montague Lee Sanders, both of Roanoke; Mark Alexander Bowman, brother of the bride, of Manassas; John Avis Draper of Winchester; Thomas Edwin Duckwall of Kinston, North Carolina; Mark Kevin Hackler, of Wilmington, North Carolina; James Anderson Huff, of Arlington; John Christian Fannon of Alexandria; andDarren William Lynch of Washington, D.C. The ringbearers were Stuart Burton Stone and Paul Garner Stone, cousins of the groom, of Birmingham, Alabama.

After a wedding trip to Utah, thecouple will reside in Roanoke.
