MITCHELL-OWENS
Shannon Rene Owens and Adam Wayne Mitchell were married September 11, 1993,
at 2:00 p.m. in Salem Baptist Church. Dr. Carl Collins performed the ceremony.
The reception was held at the home of the groom's parents. The maid of honor
was Michelle Green, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Tiffeny Hylton,
friend of the bride, and Traci Roberts, sister of the groom. Flowergirls were
Mekila Lam and Leeann Gerald, nieces of the bride. The best man was Joe Frye,
friend of the groom. Ushers were Sarge Vines and Jeff Alexander, friends of
the groom, Rick Gerald, brother of the bride, and Matt Mitchell, brother of
the groom. Ringbearer was Kristopher Mitchell, nephew of the groom. Musical
selection, "Always", was sung by Bev and Linda Williamson. Special thanks to
Virginia Williams, wedding director, and to Jim Parker, photographer. The
guestbook was attended by Angel Adams. The bride is a daughter of William and
Vivian Ellison, of Roanoke. She graduated from Northside High School and
attended Va. Western Community College. She is employed by Mary Kay Cosmetics.
The bridegroom is a son of Lorraine Roberts, of Salem, and Michael Mitchell,
of Rocky Mount. He graduated from Northside High School and is serving with
the United States Navy, Newport News, Va. After a wedding trip to the Florida
Keys, the newlyweds will live in Newport News, Va.
