SWAIN-HOWELL

Rainbow Forest Baptist Church was the setting for the ceremony uniting Lisa Ann Howell and Melvin Richard Swain in holy matrimony on September 11, 1993. The Rev. Ken Butterworth officiated.The reception followed in the churchfellowship hall.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her uncle, David Felty. The bride's best friend, Tracy Murray, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids wereTeresa Carter, sister of the groom; Teresa Francis and Dawn Petrick. Brooke Marie Hurt, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride. The flowergirls were HeatherDivers, daughter of Dan and TammyDivers of Salem, and Carrie Swain,daughter of the groom. The guestbook attendant was Heather Carter and the program attendant was Amanda Carter, nieces of the groom. The groom's father, Elmer Swain, served as best man. The groomsmen were David Beamer, Randy Creasy, Leithan Grinnell, and Garland Ratcliffe. The ringbearer was Corey Swain, son of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Patsy Stallard of Roanoke, and the granddaughter of Elizabeth Waller of Salem and the late Pierce Waller. She is employed by Travelmasters and is also the owner of Affordable Weddings.

The groom is the son of Elmer and Naomi Swain of Roanoke, and isemployed by Norfolk Southern.

The couple will reside in Roanoke, after a romantic Caribbean Cruise.
