MOYER SPARKS CATHOLIC PAST HARGRAVE 35-8

P.J. Moyer ran for 152 yards and scored three touchdowns Saturday to lead Roanoke Catholic to a 35-8 victory over Hargrave Military Academy in high school football.

Moyer scored on runs of 62 and 7 yards and hauled in a 50-yard scoring pass from quarterback Mike Kolnok as the Celtics (2-1 overall, 1-0 Virginia Independent Conference) bolted to a 22-0 halftime lead.

Deon Royer took the second-half kickoff and raced 80 yards for a touchdown to increase Catholic's lead.

Hargrave Military (0-1, 0-1) amassed 212 yards rushing but hurt itself with 11 penalties and four fumbles. Javon Collins scored on a 14-yard run for the Tigers.
