OBIT KANE, LENA BLACK

KANE, Lena Black, 87, of Roanoke, died Saturday morning, September 11, 1993 at her home, in the care of the Good Samaritan Hospice. She was the widow of Joseph W. Kane. She is survived by two daughters, June K. Hutchins and Phyllis J. Kane, Roanoke; grandchildren, L. Mike Hutchins and Marlyce, Tocoma, Wash., Jeane M. Hutchins McQueen and Robert, of Atlanta, Ga.; great-granddaughter, Megan K. Hutchins, Tocoma, Wash.; two sisters, Bonnie B.Spangler, Roanoke and Fay B. Snyder, Falls Church. A celebration of Lena's life will be held at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, where she was a very active member. The time of the service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. James Drinard Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church or the Good Samaritan Hospice. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's South Chapel.
