OBIT SIMMONS, EDDIE JOE SR.

SIMMONS, Eddie Joe Sr., 59, of Roanoke, died Friday, September 10, 1993. He was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Simmons. Survivors include five sons, Eddie Simmons Jr., Timothy Cole Simmons, both of Roanoke, Ricky Simmons of Richmond, Michael Simmons, Jeffrey Simmons, both of Roanoke; three stepdaughters, Elizabeth Ann Martin, Alfreda Martin and Emma Jean Martin, all of Roanoke; one brother, Harrison L. (Carlene) Simmons; two sisters, Geneva Smith and Ollie (Frank) Hairston, all of Walnut Cove, N.C.; his ex-wife, Mary Gaston of Roanoke; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
