OBIT DEAN, CLARENCE BELMA

DEAN, Clarence Belma, 77, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, September 9, 1993, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Dean was born in Wise County on August 18, 1916, to the late Ballard Noah and Martha Ann Minnix Dean. He was a Staff SGT. during World War II, serving in the Philipines. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Alice) Meade of Lebanon; two sisters, Mrs. Vadis (Lola Mae) Shupe and Mrs. Chester (Fannie) Reed, both of Wise; one brother, Darrell Dean of Radford; two granddaughters; two stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 13, at 1 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
