OBIT POE, WOODROW W.

POE, Woodrow W., 80, of Marion, died Sunday, September 12, 1993, at his home. He was a Veteran of World War II and a member of Marion VFW Post #4667 and American Legion Post #18. He attended Marion Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ann S. Poe of Marion; eight sisters, Bessie Hughes of Baltimore, Md., Vernie Poe of Bluefield, W. Va., Blanche Saunders of Bluefield, W. Va., Ida Totsie Matthews of Detroit, Mich., Della Shewsberry of Bluefield, W. Va., Mary Hila Wright of Bluefield, W. Va., Nancy French of Virginia Beach and Rosa Lee Gilmore of Houston, Texas; one brother, Fred R. Poe of Marion; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Dr. William A. Slater officiating. Burial will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery, Greenville, Tenn. where military honors will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marion VFW Post #4667, P.O. Box 767, Marion, VA 24354 or Martion Baptist Church, 1258 North Main Street, Marion, VA 24354. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
