WATER COMPANY TO PAY RECORD SETTLEMENT

A Montana company has agreed to pay $900,000, the largest penalty ever imposed under federal laws protecting drinking water, the Justice Department announced Monday.

Butte Water Co. agreed to pay the penalty to settle charges that it supplied unsafe drinking water to its 30,000 customers in Silver Bow County, Mont. - Associated Press
