OBIT CARTER, ROBERT L.
CARTER, Robert L., ("Bob"), of Roanoke, died Sunday, September 12, 1993, in
a local hospital. His residence was 4424 Fontaine Drive, S.W. Mr. Carter was a
Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church, a
member of the B.P.O.E. #197, a member of the Kiwanis Club, and a former member
of Country Side Golf Club. Mr. Carter was a graduate of Jefferson Senior High
School. He attended Emory and Henry College and retired from C.I.T.
Corporation of Boston, Mass. He is survived by one brother, Melvin D. Carter;
one sister, Una M. Carter, both of Roanoke; he is also survived by several
nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held in Evergreen Burial Park
at 1 p.m. on Wednesday with the Rev. Charles R. Doyle officiating. The family
will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's South
Chapel.
