OBIT KEEN, EDNA VANDERGRIFT
KEEN, Edna Vandergrift, 86, of Roanoke, died Sunday, September 12, 1993, in
a local hospital. She was the widow of Paul S. Keen, and a member of AirLee
Court Baptist Church. Mrs. Keen retired from the Roanoke City Schools, and was
a former employee of Friendship Manor. She is survived by a son, Randolph P.
Keen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean K. and Vince Clinevell, Marlene K.
and John Pomeroy, all of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Paula Powers, Kelly
Kanney, both of Roanoke, Laura Arnold, Bethesda, Md., Allison Williams,
Virginia Beach, Courtney Williams and Bud Keen, both of Roanoke; three
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Vandergrift and Jennings
Vandergrift, both of Roanoke; three sisters, Nellie Brammer, and Lillian
Peters, both of Roanoke, Charlotte Fowler, Ft. Worth, Texas. Funeral services
will be held at Oakey's South Chapel, 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Doyle
Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The
family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to
9 p.m. Tuesday.
