STAUNTON RIVER WRESTLING COACH DIES

Roger Dick, a longtime wrestling coach at Staunton River High School, died Wednesday after a brief illness.

Dick, 47, had been the Eagles' head coach for two seasons after serving as an assistant coach for a number of years. He also was an assistant football coach at Staunton River and had been an assistant football coach at Liberty and Jefferson Forest. He is an honor graduate of Randolph-Henry High School and Berea (Ky.) College who taught technology education at Staunton River.

\ Mike Thomas has been named assistant athletic director for facilities and operations at Virginia after spending seven years in a similar post at the University of Denver, where he also had responsibilities in compliance.
