OBIT DICK, ROGER L. SR.

DICK, Roger L. Sr., 47, of Lynch Station, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 1993, at his residence. He was born September 2, 1946, in Winchester, a son of the late Linwood and Louella Dick. He was a teacher with Bedford County Public Schools, was an original resident of the Patrick Henry Boys Home, Red Hill, and has coached football at Staunton River High School, Liberty High School and Jefferson Forest High School, and was presently coaching Wrestling at Staunton River High School. He is survived by his wife, Sandra West Dick; two sons, Joshua Linwood Dick, Roger Lee Dick Jr., both of Lynch Station; a daughter, Susan Gayle Dick, Lynch Station; a sister, Joyce Dick, Winchester; two brothers, Robert Dick, Winchester, John Dick, Orlando, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 17, 1993, at 11 a.m. from Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston, by the Rev. Wayne Murphy. Interment will follow in the Leesville United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Updike Funeral Home, Huddleston, and request that those wishing to make memorials consider the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Huddleston Lifesaving Crew. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home, Huddleston.
