Virginia favorite Woo Daves and his son, Chris, of Spring Grove, were only 3 ounces apart. Chris Daves placed 42nd with four fish weighing 13 pounds, 3 ounces. His two-day total was five fish weighing 14 pounds, 10 ounces.
Woo Daves was 46th with three bass weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces. His two-day total was 14 pounds, 7 ounces.
The three-day event is the first of 10 qualifying events for the BASS Masters Classic world championship in August 1994 in Greensboro, N.C.
