HAYES LEADS FIELDALE-COLLINSVILLE

P.J. Hayes dominated play with 19 points and 17 rebounds as Fieldale-Collinsville defeated Patrick County 59-48 on Thursday night in Piedmont District girls' basketball.

The difference for the Cavaliers (1-3 overall and in the district) was the first quarter, when they built their final 11-point margin behind Cicely Becker and Hayes. Becker added 16 points.

Lisa Nelson led Patrick County with 16 points.

Parry McCluer 61\ Riverheads 39

BUENA VISTA - Stephanie Rhodes scored 23 points and Misty Snider added 16 as the Fighting Blues rolled past the Gladiators in a non-district matchup.

Parry McCluer (3-2) led 38-5 at the hald and substituted liberally the rest of the way.

Tammy Fitzgerald (0-7) led Riverheads with 12 points.

Highland 59\ Harman, W.Va. 25

HIGHLAND - The Rams jumped to a 19-2 first-quarter lead, and Amy Arbaugh poured in 19 points in the non-district matchup. Highland led 28-7 at the half, and 44-11 after three quarters. The Rams are 1-2 overall, 0-0 in the Pioneer District.
