OBIT MARTIN, RALPH WILBUR

MARTIN, Ralph Wilbur, "Cobby", 72, of Wytheville, and a resident of Virginia's Rest Home, formerly of Max Meadows, died Friday, September 17, 1993 at the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was born in Max Meadows, the son of the late Raymond Wesley and Hazel Armentrout Martin. He was a school bus driver for thirty-five years with the Wythe County School System. He was also a charter member of the Max Meadows Volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of the Max Meadows Ruritan Club. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Clyde (Allene) Hedge Sr.; one niece, Karen Hedge Cline, both of Wytheville, Va.; one nephew, Clyde Hedge Jr. of Floyd, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Max Meadows United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the McGavock Cemetery in Max Meadows. The body will be moved to the church one hour before service time. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the Max Meadows U. M. C. or the Max Meadows Volunteer Fire Department. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
