HENDERSON-SHAVER

The marriage ceremony uniting Ms. Anjelica Marie Shaver and Mr. William Greg Henderson took place at 2:00 in the afternoon on September 18, 1993, at The War Memorial Chapel on the VPI & SU Campus in Blacksburg, with Dr. Charles Taylor officiating. The reception immediately followed the ceremony at TheHuckleberry in Christiansburg. Thematron of honor was Mrs. LaVondaSimmers, sister of the bride, ofBlacksburg. The bridesmaids were Ms. Heather Williams-Speakman ofBlacksburg; Ms. Nina Ventre of Greensboro, North Carolina; Ms. Dawn Wagoner of Ridgeley, West Virginia; Mrs. Dana Keith of Blacksburg; and Mrs. LaTawnya Burleson of Virginia Beach; all friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Ms. Lindsay Robinson of Blacksburg. Flowergirl was Ms. Lauren Robinson of Blacksburg. The best man was Mr. RobertHenderson, father of the groom, of Blacksburg. Groomsmen were Mr. Brian Simmers, brother-in-law of the bride, of Blacksburg; Mr. Bobby Mitcham of Blacksburg; Mr. John Burleson of Virginia Beach; Mr. Sidney Smith of Blacksburg; and Mr. Barry Keith of Blacksburg; all friends of the groom. The ushers were Mr. John Henderson of Christiansburg, and Mr. Mark Henderson of Blacksburg, brothers of the groom. The ringbearer was Master Jamie Slusser of Christiansburg. The guestbook was attended by Mrs. Kari Taylor, friend of the bride, of Christiansburg. The bride wore a gown of white silk with portrait collar of Alencon lace. The fitted bodice was adorned withAlencon lace heavily beaded with pearls and iridescent sequins. The full skirt and chapel-length train were edged with pearls. She carried a bouquet of roses, spider mums, ivy and baby's breath. Flower arrangements were provided by Angle's Florist in Christiansburg. The wedding cake was provided by Karon Pearman of Karon's Kakes and Krafts in Blacksburg. The rehearsal dinner, given by the groom's parents, was held at The Farmhouse in Christiansburg. A bridal shower, given by Mrs. LaVonda Simmers, Mrs. Sharon Robinson, and Mrs. Grace Simmers was held on July 31, at theHoliday Inn in Blacksburg. A shower and family affair for the bride and groom was given by the groom's parents on August 15 at the home of the groom in Blacksburg. A bridesmaid luncheon, given by the bride's mother, was held on September 17 at Pargo's in Christiansburg. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Shaver of Blacksburg. She is a granddaughter of Mr. Roy K. Vaught of Blacksburg, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney R. Shaver of Blacksburg, and the late Mrs. Virginia M. Vaught. She is employed by the Department of Accounting at VPI & SU and currently attends New River Community College. The groom is a son of Mr. Robert W.Henderson of Blacksburg, Mrs. Elizabeth P. Anderson and stepson of Mr. Charles L. Anderson of Max Meadows. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph W. "Teet" Henderson of Blacksburg, and a stepgrandson of Mr. and Mrs. O.K. Anderson of Radford. He is employed by theCorporate Research Computing Center at VPI & SU. Greg and Anjelica would like to thank all family members and friends for making their wedding day so memorable. They will reside in Blacksburg, after their honeymoon to Honolulu, Hawaii.
