LANNING-THOMPSON

Sherry Ann Thompson and Charles Timothy Lanning were united in marriage Saturday, September 18, 1993 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Rev. Charles Ward and Rev. J. C. Lanning, father of the groom, performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Winston Thompson of Check, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Minnick of Christiansburg. The groom is the son of Rev. J. C. Lanning and the late Juanita Self Lanning of Roanoke.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The matron of honor was Shirley Collins, sister of the bride. Honor attendants were Tracy Collins, niece of the bride; Karen Davis, Rhonda Hall, andSandra Rakes, friends of the bride.

The groom's best man was SteveRobertson, friend fo the groom. Groomsmen were Robert Akers, friend of the groom; Mike Collins, brother-in-law of the bride, Travis Collins, nephew of the bride; and Gary Shumaker, cousin of the groom.

The wedding was directed by Pat Myers. Music was provided by Susan Houston, pianist at First Baptist Church. Libby Linkous and Freddie Nolen, friends of the bride, sang two duets. Tracy Curtis, friend of the bride attended the guestbook.

The reception was held in the church connector. Servers were Debbie Akers, Mary Ann Cole, Lois Crawford, B. J.Switzer, and Marjorie Wright.

The bride is a graduate of Floyd County High School. She was previously employed by Virginia Tech.

The groom is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and Virginia Western Community College. He is employed by Williams Supply, Inc.

Following their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, Tim and Sherry will make their home in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
