OBIT WILLIAMS, SUSAN MACKEY

WILLIAMS, Susan Mackey, 84, a lifelong resident of the Timber Ridge area of Rockbridge County, died Saturday, September 18, 1993, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. She was born July 6, 1909, at Fairfield and was a daughter of the late Alexander Burton and Agnes Morton Mackey. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Timber Ridge (Old Stone) Presbyterian Church and had been married for 57 years to William Twyman Williams III, who survives her. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Suzanne W. Crawford of Lexington and Annabel W. Johnson of Sterling; four sons, Brig. Gen. W. T. Williams IV of Lexington, Daniel M. Williams of Lexington, Preston M. Williams of Lexington and John A. Williams of Moncks Corner, S.C.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 from the Timber Ridge A.R.P. Cemetery with the Rev. Lisa Wilson officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church, Fairfield First Aid Crew, The American Cancer Society or other appropriate charities. Harrison Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
