OBIT LONG, RUSSELL K.
LONG, Russell K., 77, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, September 19, 1993,
at his home. He was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church and was owner of
Garry's of Roanoke Valley. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mrs. Eunice
F. Long. He is survived by his wife, Faye C. Long; three daughters and two
sons-in-law, Suzanne Dahl, Hot Springs, Ark., Nancy L. Pugh and husband,
Wayne, Charleston, W.Va., Kathy L. Overstreet and husband, Johnny, Lynchburg;
three stepdaughters, Donna C. Housman, Roanoke, Barbara C. Olejarz and
husband, Mike, Gahanna, Ohio, Bonnie C. Davis and husband, Dennis, Fincastle;
three brothers, Nelson Long, Hot Springs, Va., Kenneth Long, Roanoke, Garth
Long, Yeager, W.Va.; three sisters, Goldie Lockard, Roanoke, Ilene Benser,
Baltimore, Md., Violet Wiggins, Charlottesville; seven grandchildren. Funeral
services will be conducted from the Shenandoah Baptist Church, 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, September 22, with Dr. Robert L. Alderman officiating. Burial will
be in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The
Good Samaritan Hospice or Shenandoah Baptist Church Mission Fund. Friends may
call Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m.
and 7 to 9 p.m Tuesday.
