Salem avenged a 23-point home loss by winning 68-53 on Laurel Park's court in a non-district girls' high school basketball game on Monday.

Sherrie Johnson led Salem with 27 points, Heather Moore added 20.

Torsheda Dillard's 15 points led Laurel Park (4-2), Toy Perkins added 14 and Tanesha Hairston added 13. \

Union (W.Va.) 42

NEW CASTLE - Chrissy Robertson scored 24 points as Craig County defeated Union, W.Va., 51-42 in a non-district game. The teams played evenly through three quarters, but Robinson scored eight points and Bonnie Boardwine had six of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to give the Rockets (1-1) the victory. Union is 1-3. \
