AYERS, Jettie Brooks Mooney, 92, of Rt 4, Galax, passed away Monday, September 20, 1993, at her residence. Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by her husband Boyd Ayers; four children, Helena Frost, James, Bolen and Whitt Ayers. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Joe Higgins, Galax; Betty and James Gardner, Woodlawn; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Christine Ayers, Knoxville, Tenn.; Roy and Eskie Ayers, Winston Salem, N.C.; Dean Ayers, Galax; F.C. Ayers, Knoxville, Tenn.; son-in-law, Alvin Frost, Galax, daughter-in-law, Hazel Ayers, Knoxville, Tenn.; half brother, Howard Newman, Galax; two half sisters, Mary Rippey, High Point, N.C., Estelle Leonard, Rexiville; sisters-in-law, Louise Ayers, Galax, Josephine Mooney, Columbus Ohio; special friends, Edith Bevins, Bonnie Testerman, Kathy Sparks, Teresa Shaffer; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at River Hill Christian Church, Wednesday, 11 a.m. Interment will be at church cemetery with Everett Cox and Leo Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
