LEGIONNAIRE'S BACTERIA FOUND IN HOSPITAL WATER

Bacteria that causes Legionnaire's disease was found in the water supply of a hospital where two kidney transplant patients came down with the lung disease this summer. One patient died, the other recovered.

The University of Illinois Hospital tested its water supply after the death of a 51-year-old patient on June 3 and found no evidence of the bacteria. After a second patient became infected in late July, more tests turned up evidence of the bacteria at some faucets and in the general water supply, university spokesman John Camper said. - Associated Press
