OBIT CROWE, ROY MARVIN SR.
CROWE, Roy Marvin Sr., 49, of Salem, died Tuesday, September 21, 1993. He
was a son of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Crowe, Salem. He was the owner of Salem Used
Appliances. Mr. Crowe served for 25 years with the Fire and Rescue Department
and was Chief of the Fort Lewis Fire Department for 15 of those years. He is
survived by other than his parents, his wife, Gwen M. Crowe; one son, Roy M.
Crowe Jr.; three brothers, Claude E. Crowe, Clifford P. Crowe, both of Salem,
Kermit C. Crowe, Roanoke; two sisters, Nannie Laura Stump Jones, Moneta,
Margie G. Gray, Kokomo, Ind.; two half brothers; father and mother-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Lawrence Hawkins; brother-in-law, Larry E. Hawkins, several nieces
and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the John
M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Larry Atkin officiating.
Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive
friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Fort Lewis Fire and Rescue Department.
