W&L CRUISES TO ODAC SOCCER VICTORY

Alan Christensen, David Corning, Bill Gill and Shag Drewry all scored before halftime as Washington and Lee's men's soccer team coasted to a 4-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference win over host Bridgewater. The Generals (2-4 overall, 1-0 in the conference) have outscored their past two opponents 14-1.

Corinda Hankins, Kait Barton and Michelle Bauman each scored twice for Washington and Lee as the Generals defeated host Hollins 8-0 in a women's ODAC soccer match. Jenni Gates had two assists for Washington and Lee (4-1, 2-0 in the ODAC).

Tain Nix scored two goals as top-ranked Virginia defeated Georgetown 4-1 in a men's soccer match at Charlottesville. Georgetown managed seven shots in the first half, the most in the first half by a UVa opponent since Nov. 8, 1991, when North Carolina had eight shots, but couldn't score. Chris Ashby scored the Hoya's lone goal in the first shot of the second half. The Cavaliers are 7-0.

Four players scored as Longwood defeated VMI 4-1 in a men's soccer match at Lexington. The Lancers (2-5) took a 3-0 lead at halftime and led 4-0 in the second half before the injured Jonathan Dano scored the Keydets' lone goal. VMI is 2-6.

Jen Roessler scored both of Roanoke's goals as the Maroons' women's soccer team edged Lynchburg for an overtime win in the ODAC. Mia Erdmann scored Lynchburg's lone goal. Roanoke is 1-4 overall, 1-1 in the ODAC. Lynchburg is 3-4, 0-1.
