GALAX CRUSHES BLAND

Galax was successful in pounding the ball inside to Tammy Cox, who finished with a game-high 15, and the Maroon Tide swamped Bland 56-17 in a Mountain Empire District girl's basketball contest Tuesday night.

Jaclyn Dickens scored 14 points to go with five assists and 10 rebounds for Galax (3-2, 3-2). Cox added eight rebounds. The Rockets (0-5, 0-5) scored nine points in the last three quarters. \
