CAVS TOP GEORGETOWN 4-1 IN SOCCER

Tain Nix scored two goals as top-ranked Virginia (7-0) defeated Georgetown 4-1 in a men's soccer match at Charlottesville. Georgetown managed seven shots in the first half, the most in the first half by a UVa opponent since Nov. 8, 1991, when North Carolina had eight shots, but couldn't score. Chris Ashby scored the Hoya's lone goal in the first shot of the second half.

Radford's only score came on a breakaway goal by Che Henderson at 50:37 and the Highlanders (0-7-1) went on to a 1-1 tie with UNC Charlotte (2-4-1) in men's soccer at Radford.

Jen Roessler scored both of Roanoke's goals as the Maroons' women's soccer team edged Lynchburg for an overtime win in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Roanoke is 1-4 overall, 1-1 in the ODAC. Lynchburg is 3-4, 0-1.
