OBIT BISHOP, CLARENCE L.

BISHOP, Clarence L., 79, of Christiansburg, died Tuesday afternoon, September 21, 1993, in a Radford hospital. He was a retired electrician with the Radford Arsenal and a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Essie Mae Bowman Bishop; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Clarence and Brooke Bishop, Christiansburg, Marvin Bishop, Roanoke, Earl and Sue Bishop, Millboro, Va.; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Nancy and Alvin Hale, Christiansburg, Celia and William Cassell, Kernersville, N.C., Anna and Richard McGuire, Christiansburg and Galax, Lois Burnett, Goodview, Va.; Sylvia Rutherford, Pa.; two half brothers, Simon Mitchem, Bassett, Boyd Mitchem, W.Va.; a half sister, Rosie Mitchem, W.Va.; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday from the Richardson-Horne Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert E. Crawford with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening at the funeral home and the family will receive friends there from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Arrangements are being handled by Richardson-Horne.
