14 PROFESSIONALS JOIN UNITED WAY

Fourteen professionals are on loan to the United Way of Roanoke Valley to help Roanoke Valley organizations plan and implement employee campaigns.

These professionals, known as "loaned executives," will work for the United Way during its annual fund-raising campaign while their employers pay their salaries.

The loaned executives began their United Way assignments in early September after completing a week of intensive training. They may be reached at the United Way office at 345-7351.

Edward E. Harriman Jr., director of major gifts for Ferrum College and a former loaned executive, coordinated the training program for the sixth consecutive year. Charles R. Lockard, human resources division manager at Allstate Insurance Co., assisted Harriman, and David R. Sangston, Allstate's regional vice president, was chairman of the recruitment committee.

The loaned executives are:

Edward O. Andrews, market team underwriter, Allstate Insurance Co.

Toni Brandon, program development planner, Total Action Against Poverty.

Patrick Campbell, district supervisor, Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Shirley H. Carter, corporate secretary, Carilion Health System.

JoAnn Gilbert, supply systems technician, Allstate Insurance Co.

Evangeline B. Jeffrey, maintenance administrator, C&P Telephone.

Tonya Kelly, co-manager, Kroger Co.

Lucy Lee, individual sponsored by Maid Bess Corp.

Charlie Lex, state taxes manager, Norfolk Southern Corp.

Bill Malcolm, administrative officer and chief of staff, Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Michelle Miles, marketing researcher/proposal assistant, Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern.

Tammy Ratliff Spradlin, associate staff accountant, Appalachian Power Co.

Chuck Smith, senior consultant, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia.

Judy Wishnek, commercial banking associate, First Union National Bank of Virginia.
