The Roanoke City Firefighters Local #1132 has announced that its annual fall golf tournament to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be held Oct. 21 at Hanging Rock Golf Club with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Prizes will be awarded to the top four teams as well as for the two longest drives and all par threes closest to the pin.
Deadline for entry is Oct. 18 and there is a $40 entry fee which includes greens fees, lunch and beverages. For more information, call 772-3237.
CVB Open Fall Classic scheduled for Oct. 12
The Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced that the CVB Open Fall Classic golf tournament will be held Oct. 12 at Hanging Rock Golf Club.
The captain's choice tournament will have a 10 a.m. shotgun start and will feature longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and hole-in-one contests. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three teams. A cookout will follow the tournament.
Deadline for entry is Sept. 30 and teams will be taken on a first-come first-serve basis. Entry fee is $400 per regular team and/or $100 per person and $600 for a special sponsor (foursome plus hole sponsorship). Hole sponsorships and tournament sponsorships are also available.
All proceeds go the Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau. For more information, call 342-6025.
Soccer club is seeking part-time director
The Roanoke Valley Youth Soccer Club, Inc. is accepting applications for a part-time director of coaching and player development. Applicants must have extensive coaching experience and a coaching license from the U.S. Soccer Federation or National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
