REYNOLDS TO START AT QB SATURDAY

VMI junior Erik Reynolds will start at quarterback Saturday when the Keydets meet Army in West Point, N.Y., coach Jim Shuck announced Thursday.

Reynolds relieved starter Spike Johnson in the second quarter of last Saturday's 10-7 loss to East Tennessee State and played the majority of the game.

Shuck said Johnson also is likely to see playing time against Army.

Reynolds, considered the better option quarterback in VMI's Wishbone offense, completed four of 10 passes for 59 yards and rushed for 13 yards before Shuck put Johnson back in with three minutes left.

Johnson directed the Keydets' final drive, which ended with a 3-yard touchdown throw to Rob Clark. - Staff report
