OBIT PARCELL, GENEVA ROBERTSON

PARCELL, Geneva Robertson, 78, of 955 W. Franklin St., Wytheville, died Wednesday, September 22, 1993, at the Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. She was born in Wolf Creek, the daughter of the late Elby V. and Cindy Thornton Robertson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Parcell; and a son, Carl Clegg Parcell. She is survived by six daughters, Ethel Hare, Staffordsville, Thelma P. Gilmore, Winston-Salem, N.C., Janice P. Roark, Wythveville, Wanda P. Rhodes, Pearisburg, Sandra P. Moser, Wytheville, Debra N. Parcell, Wytheville; two sons, Donald M. Parcell, Blacksburg, Chuck Parcell, Wytheville; three sisters, Mrs. Zella Thornton, Delaware, Mrs. Clemons Hamblin, Pulaski, Mrs. Tessie King, Wytheville; two half sisters, Mrs. Irene Brunk, Mrs. Dolly Blankenship, both of Wytheville; one half brother, Ed Robertson, Wytheville; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Barnett Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family willl receive friends Friday at the Barnett Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m., or at the residence at any time. The family suggests that those who prefer, may make memorials to the American Cancer Society, or the American Diabetes Association. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, is in charge of the arrangements.
