OBIT PARKER, THOMAS E., DR.

PARKER, Thomas E., Dr. of 211 Timber Ridge Dr, Forest, passed away Monday, September 20, 1993 at his residence. Born in Floyd, he was a son of the late Thomas E. Parker Sr. and Mrs. Cleopatra Brammer Parker. His wife is Mrs. Bessie Locke Parker of the residence. He was pastor of St. Peters Baptist Church in Clifford and Past President of Virginia Seminary and College. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Elizabeth Parker. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Parker III of Atlanta, Ga., Louis W. Parker of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Parker Ingram of Roanoke; a granddaughter, Miss Elan Jordan Parker of Washington, D.C.; and a host of other lovely relatives and many friends. The family is receiving friends at the residence. Funeral service 12 noon Saturday, September 25, 1993, at the St. Peters Baptist Church, Clifford, Va., with Rev. Carl Hutcherson Jr. offciating and Rev. Dr. Robert Johnson Smith Sr. of Salem Baptist Church, Jenkinstown, Pa. eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. The cortege will assemble at the residence at 10:30 a.m, 211 Timber Ridge Dr., Forest, Va.
