PROSTITUTION SWEEP NETS 30 ARRESTS

Thirty suspects were arrested on charges ranging from indecent exposure to possession of marijuana in a prostitution crackdown in Southeast Roanoke early Friday.

A police report said the suspects solicited sexual acts for money from undercover female police officers in the area.

The charges include prostitution, possession of crack cocaine, and use of a vehicle to facilitate prostitution. Seventeen of the suspects were from outside the Roanoke Valley, police said.
