Lord Botetourt (4-0) rushed for 293 yards and got two big-play touchdowns to take the lead for good in the second quarter.
Three kickoffs were returned for touchdowns, two by Craig County's Kris Peters.
The first came on the opening kickoff and covered 84 yards; the second, an 87-yarder, followed a 6-yard scoring run by Lord Botetourt's Darin Harris. It put Craig County up 12-7 with 6:23 left in the first quarter.
Peters also scored on a 7-yard pass from Robbie Huffman with 6:05 left in the first quarter, after Johnny Crawford returned an interception 18 yards to the Cavalier 7.
But Botetourt's Chris Deweese returned the ensuing kickoff 86 yards to cut Craig County's lead to 19-14 with 5:51 left in the first quarter.
Then, with 7:36 left in the half, Deweese threw to Tim O'Quinn for a 42-yard touchdown, and Deweese's two-point conversion made it 22-19 Botetourt.
The Cavaliers had four turnovers but held Craig County (0-4) to 32 yards rushing and four first downs.
Peters totaled 239 yards on five kickoff returns. Rocky Lark led Botetourt with 94 yards rushing. \

Cave Spring 13
The Pioneers broke a tie in a 2 1/2-minute span of the third quarter and went on to beat the Knights in a non-district game.
Heritage (3-0) drove 58 yards to open the second half, scoring on Jared Hesse's 1-yard run with 6:39 remaining. The extra-point kick made it 14-7.
Cave Spring punted on its next possession. On the Pioneers' first play from scrimmage, Marlon Tanner ran 71 yards for a touchdown as Heritage went up 21-7 with 4:10 left in the third quarter.
Cave Spring (0-3) managed 102 yards total offense, while Heritage rushed for 346 yards. Tanner gained 132. Andre Austin, who opened the scoring with a 35-yard run, rushed for 84.
Dusty Beekman scored on a 2-yard run and Mike Ray caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from Jeff Lang for Cave Spring's scoring.

Roanoke Catholic 14
LYNCHBURG - Jason Brown ran 20 times for 138 yards and three touchdowns as the Bulldogs overpowered the Celtics in a Virginia Independent Conference game.
Lynchburg (3-0 overall, 1-0 district) scored 17 points in the first quarter - two when Roanoke Catholic quarterback Mike Kolnok touched a knee down in the end zone - and 19 in the third as the Bulldogs ran up 297 yards of offense.
The teams traded touchdowns early in the third quarter, when Lynchburg's Landon Elder returned the Celtics' opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown and Tony Joyce of Roanoke Catholic (2-3, 1-1) ran back the next kickoff 85 yards for a score.
The Celtics' final touchdown came on a 47-yard pass from Kolnok to Cameron Blount. \
Rustburg 47
Staunton River 14
MONETA - After a 4-yard touchdown run by Jay Richards with 4:54 remaining in the first quarter, the Golden Eagles trailed unbeaten Rustburg 7-6. Before they scored again, the Red Devils had 40 points.
Rustburg improved its record to 4-0 in the Seminole District and 4-0 overall by rushing for 331 yards on 27 attempts, including four scoring runs of 35 yards or more. Morgan Warrick had touchdown runs of 54, 35 and 4 yards and also scored on a two-point conversion.
Staunton River lost four fumbles in falling to 3-0 in the district and 3-0 overall, but rushed for 279 yards and had 314 yards in total offense to Rustburg's 330. Jeff English had 13 carries for 86 yards and Dwight Orange rushed for 84 yards on nine attempts. \
Liberty 13
William Campbell 12
BEDFORD - Greg Richie rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown as the Minutemen survived a late rally by the Generals to win a Seminole District game.
Liberty took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter off a 35-yard run by Richie, but William Campbell (1-3 overall and in the district) cut its deficit to one on a 16-yard run by Clifton Bradley in the first minute of the second quarter.
Greg Reynolds scored on a 27-yard pass from Mike Padgett to give the Minutemen (3-1, 3-1) a 12-6 lead in the third, but William Campbell rallied late in the game to close to one again. Antoine Hamlett caught an 11-yard pass from Mike Hall with 1:15 left in the game, but the Generals' point-after attempt failed. \
