OBIT BARKER, RUBY W.
BARKER, Ruby W., 91, of Saltville, died Thursday, September 23, 1993, in
the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. She was a member of the Saltville
Baptist Church. Mrs. Barker was a resident of the Cedar Lawn Convalescent Home
in Abingdon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles S. Barker;
one daughter, Tilma Barker Anderson; one grandson, E. Bradford Hall; one
granddaughter, Mary Beht Maiden. She is survived by three sons, Paul E. Barker
of Ladson, S.C., Fred J. Barker of Roanoke and David W. ("Bird") Barker of
Saltville; three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Katherine) Maiden of Saltville, Mrs.
Howard (Edith) White of Marion and Mrs. Kenneth (Wynotta) Morrell of
Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Claude Webb of Elizabethton, Tenn. and Warden
Webb of Emory; three sisters, Mary Counts of Meadowview, Nita Findley of
Meadowview and Irma Wheeler of Petersburg; 19 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, September 26,
1993, in the D. R. Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Jividen and
the Rev. David Pannel officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Rose
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Saturday evening at
Henderson's Funeral Home in Saltville. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
