BLAKE-LINKOUS

Kristi Ellen Linkous and Steven Eugene Blake, II were married on September 25, 1993, at Main Street Baptist Church in Christiansburg. The Reverend Peter duPlessis officiated the ceremony. The reception was held at the Blacksburg Marriott. Mark Curtis was the D.J.

The bride was escorted hand in hand and given in marriage, with love, by her mother. The maid of honor was Karri Linkous, sister of the bride. The matron of honor was Paula Engleman of Cary, N.C. Bridesmaids were Jessie Beard of Fairfax, Va.; Andrea DeGraaf of Highland Lakes, N.J.; Dawn Hooper of Lafayette, Ind.; and Elisha Blake, sister of the groom of Kincaid, W.Va.

The best man was Steven Blake, Sr., father of the groom. Groomsmen were Toddy Miller, Clay Blevins, Andrew Bowyer, Jeffrey Lance and Michael Ervine, all of Christiansburg.

Ushers for the wedding were Manuel Rodriguez of Westfield, Ind., Paul VanderVoort of Centreville, Va.; Michael Engleman of Cary, N.C.; and Randal Beard of Fairfax, Va.

The guestbook was attended by Vicki Long of Blacksburg. Flowergirl was Jennifer Butterfield of Christiansburg. Program attendants were Theresa Pizzelanti of Christiansburg, and Pam Taylor of Roanoke.

Program music was provided by David Jones, organist; Melissa McDaniel, Paula Engleman, and Andrea DeGraaf, vocalists; and Angela Gosney, pianist. A special reading was provided by Andrew Bowyer. The wedding was directed by Shelda Wills of Christiansburg.

In memory of her father, the bride placed a globed candle at the altar of the church and carried special flowers in her bouquet. Margie Pugh, longtime family friend, was an honored guest.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara Linkous and the late Delma Linkous of Christiansburg. She is the granddaughter of Virginia Sarver of Floyd. She is a 1987 graduate of Christiansburg High School and a 1992 graduate of Radford University. She is employed by Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital in Rome, Georgia as a Registered, Board-Certified, Music Therapist.

The groom is the son of Diana Snyder of Kincaid, W.Va., and Steven Blake, Sr. of Salem. He is the grandson of Lorene Blake of Haughston, W.Va. He is a 1987 graduate of Christiansburg High School. The groom was formerly employed by WPSK Radio in Pulaski.

The bride's dress and bridesmaids suits, of cream brocade and wine, were designed by the bride and seamstress Mary Thompson of Radford.

After a cruise to the Bahamas, the newlyweds will reside at 420 Elliott Drive, Rome, GA 30165 in their new home.
