The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie L. Howell of Christiansburg, Va. The groom is the son of Mr. David L. Parson of Christiansburg, Va., and Ms. Susie C. Parsons of Danville, Va. The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
The bride wore a long gibson sleeved gown of white bridal satin. The neckline was highlighted with appliques. The bodice was embellished with sequins, seed pearls and alencon lace. The cut-out back was highlighted with pearl dangles. The flowing floor length skirt and chapel length train was accented with alencon lace cutouts and border lace.
The bride's headpiece was an alencon lace tiara accented with hand strung pearls and sequins. The back two tiers were highlighted by pencil edged fingertip illusion. She carried a cascading bouquet of roses, carnations, stephanotis, ivy, and baby's breath.
The matron of honor was Lisa Thomas of Floyd, Va., friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Linda Leach of Christiansburg, Va., friend of the bride, and Kerri Melton of Richmond, Va., friend of the bride. The flower girl was Audrey Parrotte of Newport News, Va., cousin of the groom. The best man was DavidParson of Christiansburg, Va., father of the groom. The groomsmen were Ray Martin of Giles, Va., friend of the groom, and Calvin Thomas of Floyd, Va., friend of the groom. The ringbearer was Larry Parrotte, Jr. of Newport News, Va., cousin of the groom.
The guestbook attendant was Debra Danieley of Radford, Va., friend of the bride. Programs and scrolls were distributed by Angela Alderman of Christiansburg, Va., friend of the bride and groom. The pianist was Donna Wells of Christiansburg, Va., and the vocalists were Tommy and Nancy Johnson of Riner, Va., and Greg Johnson of Tazewell, Va. The wedding director was Jean Joyce of Bassett, Va. The reception assistants were Linda Akers of Christiansburg, Va., Sandra Linkous of Christiansburg, Va., Janet French of Pikeville, Ky., Angela Alderman of Christiansburg, Va., and Berkeley Rowe of Richmond, Va.
The bride is a graduate of Christiansburg High School. She received a BBA degree from Radford University and is employed as a staff auditor for the Auditor of Public Accounts in Richmond. Va.
The groom is a graduate of Christiansburg High School. He received an Associate degree from New River Community College, and is employed by the Engineering Department of AMF Bowling, Inc., Mechanicsville, Va.
After a cruise to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Richmond, Va.
