PENCE-RICHARDSON

Susan Kay Richardson and Richard Franklin Pence, Jr. were united in marriage on September 25, 1993 at Greene Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. Jerry Campbell officiating. A reception was held at the Penquin Club in Salem following the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William George Richardson, Jr. of Salem. The groom is the son of Mr. Richard F. Pence of Roanoke and Mrs. E. Cabell Brand of Salem.

Ms. Robin Anne Richardson of Salem, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Jody Hornick, sister of the bride, of Salem; Amy Raines, sister of the bride, of Salem; Caroline Brand, sister of the groom, of Lexington, Ky.; Leesa Sacra, Patty Crince, Tracy Thompson and Chris Moore, all of Salem. Jessica Crince, godchild of the bride, was the flower girl.

Mr. John Wilson Pence of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, served as his brother's best man. The groomsmen were Mark Richardson, brother of the bride, of Blue Ridge; Bruce Cody, brother of the groom, of Roanoke; Phillip Poff of Union Hall; Jay Hough of Roanoke; Michael Garst of Roanoke; Ray Cox of Roanoke; and David Hutto of Charleston, S.C. Phillip Urso of Dallas, Texas, nephew of the groom, served as ringbearer. The guestbook attendants were Betsy Garst of Roanoke and Kim Wimmer of Salem. Church vocalists were Sylvia Knaup of Munich, Germany, sister of the groom; and Gary Wimmer of Salem.

The bride is a graduate of Glenvar High School and Radford University. She is employed by Advance Stores Company, Inc.

The groom is a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School, Appalachian State University and Johnson and Wales University. He is employed by the Best Food Division of CPC Foodservice, CPC International, Inc.

Following a wedding trip to Bermuda, the couple will reside in Salem, Va.
