The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Brooks, Jr. of Potomac, Maryland, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Nancy Young of Salem, Virginia, and Mrs. Carl Ambler Young, Sr. of Roanoke, Virginia.
The 5 p.m. ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Kerry Stoltzfus and the bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Anne Hallett Thacker of Alexandria, Va. was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were sisters-in-law, Elizabeth K. Brooks of Salem, Va., and Yvette Hernandez-Brooks of Baltimore, Md., Stacy N. Levin of New York, N.Y., Anne M. O'Donnell of Chagrin Fall, Ohio, the groom's sister, Candace M. Young of Salem, Va., and Kel-Ann Burnette of Charlottesville, Va. The bride's cousin, Stephanie D. Brooks of Fredericksburg, Va., was the flower girl. The bride's niece, Samantha F. Brooks of Salem, Va., and the bride's cousin, Jonathan B. Brooks of Fredericksburg, Va., were pages.
Ted Schubert of Roanoke, Va., was the groom's best man. Groomsmen were the bride's brothers, C. David Brooks ofSalem, Va., and Bruce W. Brooks of Baltimore, Md., S. Austin Merrill of Fredericksburg, Va., Christopher Wickham of Charleston, W.Va., Bryan Cuevas of Charlottesville, Va., and Douglas Cole of Salem, Va.
A reception was held at the Tournament Players Club at Avenel in Potomac, Maryland. The couple took a wedding trip to Aruba.
Mr. and Mrs. Young both have Bachelor's degrees in English from the University of Virginia and Master's degrees in Secondary English Education from the University of Virginia. Mrs. Young is a teacher at James Monroe High School and Mr. Young teaches at Walker Grant Middle School. The couple are living in Fredericksburg.
