EX-LYNCHBURG COLLEGE CHIEF DIES

George Nichols Rainsford, who retired last June as president of Lynchburg College, has died in Santa Rosa, Calif. He was 65.

School officials said Rainsford died Thursday.

During his 10 years as president, Rainsford is credited with involving the school in community affairs and creating a partnership between the college and the local school district.
