OBIT ALEXANDER, THOMAS EDWARD
ALEXANDER, Thomas Edward, 54, of Lexington, died September 22, 1993 in
Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rockbridge County on August 5, 1939,
the son of the late Joyce Hite Alexander Sr. and E. Elizabeth Miller Alexander
of Lexington. He was owner and operator of Alexander's Tree and Shrub Service.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Occupied
Forces in Germany. He was a member of the Lexington VFW and a member of the
Gospel Way Church of God In Christ. In addition to his mother, he is survived
by his wife, Edna Early Alexander, Lexington; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Damorah E. Alexander and Joseph E. Busbice, Offutt Air Force Base, Papillion,
Neb., Valencia Alexander Long and Darryle A. Long, Lexington; a son and
finance, Darryl E. Alexander and Kelly Whittenberger, Lexington; a grandson,
Michael T. Alexander, of the home; two sisters, Lillian Alexander and Carmen
A. Nowlin, both of Lexington; three brothers, J. Hite Alexander Jr.,
Philadelphia, Pa., Jon D. Alexander and James Alexander, both of Lexington;
six grandchildren; a mother-in-law, Louise T. Early; a host of aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; special friends, Clifford
Payne and William Hobson; special nephews, Alfonzo Miller, Cabot Miller and
Darian Miller. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, September 27, 1993 at
the First Baptist Church, Lexington with Elder Leon H. McCauley and the Rev.
James Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family
will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lomax Funeral Home.
