STATE COLLEGE GOLF TITLE ON LINE

The 45th annual Virginia Intercollegiate Golf Championship over The Homestead resort's par-72 Lower Cascades course begins today in Hot Springs.

The teams entered in the two-day, 36-hole competition are defending champion Old Dominion, Virginia Tech, Richmond, James Madison, William and Mary, Liberty, George Mason, Radford and VMI.

In last year's tournament, Old Dominion made a second-day surge to defeat Virginia Tech by seven strokes.
