OBIT GONTRUM, AILEEN WITHROW

GONTRUM, Aileen Withrow, 79, of Lexington, died Saturday, September 25, 1993, at her residence. Born July 10, 1914 in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late John G. Withrow and Della Hickman Withrow. Mrs. Gontrum was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church, the Pretty By Night Garden Club and a former member of Stonewall Jackson Hospital Ladies Auxillary. Surviving are her husband, Col. Ralph W. Gontrum (United States Army Retired) of Lexington; two sons, Ralph W. Gontrum Jr. of Baltimore, Md. and Louis R. Gontrum of Severna Park, Md.; one daughter, Patricia A. Trapp of Plano, Texas; one sister, Evelyn W. Housman of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 29, 1993, at 11 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Dr. L. Randolph Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Timber Ridge A.R.P. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lexington First Aid Crew. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrison Funeral Home.
