Winds tore off a roof in Page County, knocked down trees and signs in Fauquier and Prince William counties and throughout much of central Virginia on Monday.
Page County Sheriff's Maj. T.E. Mims said what appeared to be a small tornado blew the roof off a house. The two people in the house were not injured.
Fauquier County Sheriff Joe Higgs said deputies spotted what were thought to be two tornadoes near Opal and New Baltimore. Higgs said damage was limited to downed trees and signs. He said it was unclear if either of the possible tornadoes touched down.
At 1:10 p.m., Weather Service radar showed a tornado over northern Prince William County near Interstate 66 north of Manassas, moving north-northeast at 40 mph. There also was a report of a tornado touching down near Dulles International Airport. No damage was reported.

Iverson again denied release on appeal bond
HAMPTON - A judge on Monday declined for a second time to release high school basketball standout Allen Iverson and two others on bond while awaiting an appeal of their convictions in a bowling alley brawl.
Hampton Circuit Judge Nelson Overton also refused Iverson's request for a new trial. Iverson's lawyer claimed in court papers that his client opted to be tried by Overton when he was falsely told by his original attorney, Herbert Kelly, that a jury would determine his sentence if convicted.
Kelly has called the charges that he misinformed Iverson about the duties of a jury a "flat-out lie." Overton declined to comment on the matter Monday.
Iverson, 18, and 19-year-olds Michael Simmons and Samuel Wynn were convicted of felony maiming by mob and jailed in connection with a Valentine's Day brawl at a Hampton bowling alley. A fourth defendant, Melvin Stephens Jr., was convicted of a misdemeanor and is free on bond pending appeal.

7 face assault charges after fight at school
NORFOLK - A 15-year-old girl was charged with aggravated assault Monday and six other people were charged with mob assault in a disturbance at Norview High School, police said.
The arrests stemmed from a fight that erupted on the school's third floor about 8:15 a.m. when six girls went looking for another student they had encountered during a weekend dispute, said Larry Hill, a Norfolk Police Department spokesman.
In the ensuing disturbance, four of the girls suffered slash wounds from a box cutter allegedly used by the 15-year-old, who was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, Hill said. She was not identified because of her age.
