OBIT MCCOWN, ALBERT S.

MCCOWN, Albert S. ("Mac"), 85, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, September 26, 1993, at the Virginia Veteran's Care Center in Roanoke. He was retired from the Veteran's Administration Regional Office and was a retired Lt. Col. from the United States Army. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, Class of 1931. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Mason McCown of Roanoke; sons and daughters-in-law, Albert Lee and Laura McCown of Richmond, Gary Mason McCown of Washington, D.C., Robert W. ("Rusty") and Emily McCown of Roanoke, David A. and Happy McCown of Leesburg; grandchildren, Derek McCown of Richmond, Sydney McCown of Vale, Col. and Kevin McCown of Charleston, S.C., Grace and Katie McCown of Roanoke, Allen and Claire McCown of Leesburg; brother, John L. McCown of Salem; sisters, Mrs. Nell M. Raycob of Baltimore, Md. and Mrs. Anne M. Tift of San Antonio, Texas. Graveside services will be held in Evergreen Burial Park at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. David R. Tanner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
