OBIT LAW, MARY HODGES
LAW, Mary Hodges, 88, of Rocky Mount, died Monday morning, September 27,
1993, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born October 17, 1904, in Franklin
County, the daughter of the late Joseph Taylor and Gertrude Doss Hodges and
was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan S. Law Sr. She was a member of
Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law,
Judy and Jack Sweers of Savannah, Ga., Paige and Nevin Brandenburg of
Smithsburg, Md., Betty and J. R. Buckner of Ferrum, Theresa and Raymond
Johnson of Smith Mountain Lake, Agi and Dale Sutton of Savannah, Ga.; two sons
and daughters-in-law, Buddy and Rebecca Law of Rocky Mount and Joseph C. and
Jean Law of Richmond; one sister, Winifred Hodges of Vinton; one brother, Paul
Hodges of Glade Hill; 17 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be
conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, 1993, at Lynch Chapel by the Rev.
T. Ivey Adams and J. D. Hunt III, Minister, with interment to follow in
Franklin Memorial Park. Visitation will begin after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Lynch
Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., and
other times at the residence of Buddy and Rebecca Law, 334 Hilltop Drive,
Rocky Mount. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Franklin County
Rescue Squad or the Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
