OBIT BOWER, DESSIE PALMER

BOWER, Dessie Palmer, 88, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, September 29, 1993. She was the widow of William W. Bower and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret B. and Norman L. Adams, Roanoke; her stepson and daughter-in-law, Walter B. and Jane Bower, Roanoke; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Nettie and Dowling Wheeler, Cedartown, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Lewis P. and Carmen Bower, Durham, Conn.; sister, Ethel Sowder; brothers, Everett and Tommy Palmer, all of Roanoke; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel by the Rev. Wayne Harrison, with burial in Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Floyd County. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel.
