WALLER, Alverta Mae, 68, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 1993.
She was preceded in death by one son, Albert Wayne Waller. Survivors include
three sons, Gary Waller, Marlin L. (Louise) Waller, both of Roanoke, Clifton
W. (Pearl) Waller, Appaloosa, La.; one stepson, Darryl Waller, Roanoke; three
daughters, Carolyn Echols, Betty Wilson, both of Roanoke, Germaine Poindexter,
Salem; four brothers, Bobby Vassar, Phillip Vassar, John Davis, all of
Uniontown, Pa., Joseph Davis, Detroit, Mich.; six sisters, Myrna Vassar,
Geraldine Jackson, Elaine Minor, Evelyn Thomas, all of Uniontown, Pa.,
Katherine Dalton, California, Margo Vassar, New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; ten
great-grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be
held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Pilgrim Baptist Church. Rev. Dwight O. Steele will
officiate with interment in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive
friends Friday, 7 to 8 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
