OBIT MALOYED, EDITH M.

MALOYED, Edith M., 87, of Saltville, died Tuesday, September 28, 1993, in the Smyth County Community Hospital, in Marion. She was a member of the Chatham Hill First Church of God. She is survived by two sons, Mr. Zane T. Maloyed, Chilhowie, Mr. Wayne Maloyed, Marion; two daughters, Ms. Doris Swanson, Rich Valley, Ms. Opel Haggerty, Aberdean, Md.; three brothers, Mr. K.G. Carter, Rich Valley, Mr. Fred Carter, Rich Valley, Mr. Bob Carter, Ceres; two sisters, Ms. Mae Sanders, Rich Valley, Ms. Mary Virginia Wilson, Marion; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 1, 1993, at the Ridgedale United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jesse Craft and Rev. Steve Tilley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville. Flowers will be appreciated although donations may be made to the Saltville Rescue Squad or the Church of choice.
